Just Dumb Enough Podcast
Being “Just Dumb Enough” is all about being okay with yourself, and the situation you find yourself in, after you bring up a topic in front of a real expert. My name is Colton Petry, I am the Host of the Just Dumb Enough Podcast, and I‘m your professional idiot. The premise of the show is exposing the general listening audience to topics, careers, experiences, or lifestyles they may otherwise know very little about.

Repairing Love and Marriage with Lane Stokes
Monday Aug 29, 2022
Monday Aug 29, 2022
We've all heard the statistic that 50% of all marriages end in divorce. But do they have to? What if all those people could rediscover what made their relationship special to start with?
My guest today is Lane Stokes. Lane has been a practicing marriage counselor for nearly four decades. After seeing person-centered psychotherapy fail to respond and resolve issue fast enough, he elected to build an alternative that hones in on the processes that make people fall in love on a chemical level. Understanding that showed him how to help people fall back in love even after the chemicals that brought them together were long gone. Today he shares some of that to help the listeners reconnect with their loved ones and strengthen their bonds.Lane's phone vibrates a couple times throughout the interview, pretty close to the mic, so don't be too surprised.

Tarot and Divination with Corbie Mitleid
Thursday Aug 25, 2022
Thursday Aug 25, 2022
Do you enjoy the unknown of every new day and experience? Or would you want to know, if I could guarantee beyond a doubt, that I knew what would happen to you?
My guest today is Corbie Mitleid. Corbie is a Certified Tarot Master and has been practicing this master craft for five decades now. She's an incredible spring of knowledge and really put on a hell of a show today teaching us all about this frequently misunderstood art.
CorbieMitleid.Com
I'm not sure why tarot as an idea has always fascinated me. Maybe it's the mystery, or the ability to see forward like we all wish we could after we make big mistakes. For me, it sits in this zone between a religious experience, true sorcery, and an old school magic show. Either way it was a lot of fun to talk about and I hope you all enjoy it.
Please take a brief moment to rate the show five stars on iTunes, Spotify, or Audible. It helps the show grow in ways you can't imagine. Bad Habits From Childhood with Kathi Sohn
Monday Aug 22, 2022
Monday Aug 22, 2022
Do you remember any of the promises you made when you were a kid? Did you keep them? Did you know either way they are impacting your life?
My guest today is Kathi Sohn. Kathi's husband worked his whole life developing the Body Memory Process, an alternative to the traditional psychotherapy of lying on a couch and having someone listen to you talk. This instead tracks back to your childhood, and helps you decode why you do some of the things you do now without so much of the guesswork. Because who else will ever know your life better than you?
In case you missed it last week, I'm inviting any listeners who really know or care a lot about something come on the show! Just send me an email: DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or on any of the social pages. It can be about anything at all! You might just be really good at driving tractor, or really into collecting action figures. Anything that you are interested in and would be willing to teach me about.

Taiwan Superstitions with Allison Hong Merrill
Thursday Aug 18, 2022
Thursday Aug 18, 2022
"If you point at the moon with your index finger, someone will cut off your ears."Do you have any superstitions? Walking under ladders? Black cats? A team jersey on game day? No matter how big or small, most of us know the popular ones. But what about superstitions and customs from outside the western world?
My guest today is Allison Hong Merrill. Allison was born and raised to adulthood in Taiwan before coming the the US on a student visa. What she experienced was a massive culture shock. The things we do and why we do them are commonplace to us, but can be taboo just across the ocean. We use Taiwanese and Chinese a bit interchangeably throughout the interview because, as I found out from Allison, they are extremely similar and have huge overlap. So put the political thoughts to the side and just enjoy some fascinating facts about our fellow humans from another shore.
Allison is also a big fan of this show and has been since before we met officially. I think it's incredible that I've gotten to a place where my audience enjoys the show so much they want to get involved! So in honor of this momentous occasion, I'd like to invite any listener who really knows a lot about something to send me an email DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or on any of the social pages. It can be about anything at all! You might just be really good at pumping fuel, or really into collecting card games. Anything that you are interested in and would be willing to teach me about.
Also... 58% better. Just remember that for later. 58%

Pursue Your Dreams with David Richards
Monday Aug 15, 2022
Monday Aug 15, 2022
If you're anything like me, doing uncertain things scares you. It's not bad to be scared, but we shouldn't let it hold us back. The greatest things we will ever accomplish in our lives are going to be somewhat terrifying. There's an unknown you can't ever remove when you consider the future, but what you can make sure of is that you are better tomorrow than you are today.
My guest today is David Richards. David is an international best selling author, ex-marine, current yoga instructor, and life strategist. If those things seem disconnected, it's because they are all very different, but what they provide is challenge and purpose. That's what we talk about today, overcoming the biggest obstacle: Yourself.
Let's take steps towards realizing our dreams!
It's almost unbelievable that I've been in the top 3 education podcasts on Podbean for nearly two months now. Suicide with Frank King
Thursday Aug 11, 2022
Thursday Aug 11, 2022
We've gone down in the trenches with mental health before, but never like this. Today we are going the full distance to the worst possible outcome... Suicide.
My guest today is Frank King. Frank has been a comedian for almost four decades and wrote for The (very famous) Tonight Show for Twenty years. He's spoken at Seven TED events, and has several books available all on the topic of mental health and suicide.I'm also aware I've had a couple mental health episodes not far apart. I promise I'm bringing back the variety and this will be the last in the mental health series for quite a while. However, I want to do right by this serious problem and acknowledge that it's not a small issues. Most people probably know at least one person in their life who has committed suicide, and that's one too many. I don't want any of us to feel like that is our only way out. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If don't know who to talk to, or you have no one else, message me... Please.
Let's reach out to those we care about... before it's too late.
If you want to help the show grow: rate it five stars on iTunes, Spotify, or Audible. Also if you have not already, please tell someone you know to listen to this show.

Monday Aug 08, 2022
Monday Aug 08, 2022
It's stories like today's that make me think we let ourselves down more than we are victims of life. And if we could just get it together, we could spend so much of our wasted time on helping other people
My guest today is Samantha Pillay. Samantha is a urological surgeon, public speaker, business owner, and seven time children's book author.I feels like I should mention that Samantha was born with a debilitating hip dysplasia, and overcame it to be the first female urological surgeon in all of South Australian history! We go in a couple directions with this interview, but really it breaks down to overcoming your shortcomings to help others overcome theirs.
If you want to help the show grow. Rate it five stars on iTunes, Spotify, or Audible. Also if you have not already, please tell someone you know to listen to this show. Word of mouth is the best advertising ever!I'm always looking for new topics, guest ideas, and questions from the audience. Trade Job Skills with Charles Chadwick
Thursday Aug 04, 2022
Thursday Aug 04, 2022
So often you're told growing up that college is the only way to secure your future. But what if the job you want doesn't require a degree? Do you still go to a nice university and take out loans just to say you did it? Sure the social aspect is an experience unlike what you'd find in your hometown, but it's not the only way to develop skills or make money.
My guest today is Charles Chadwick. Charles earned two college degrees before realizing he was better of working a trade job and forgoing all the formal education he thought he would need. He has dedicated his life to helping students reduce college debt, if not eliminate it by finding an alternate route to happiness, fulfillment, job security, and income.Through his stories you'll see how this "Blue Collar Worker" has been able to travel from Albania to South Korea on a company dime.
To help the show grow rate it five stars on iTunes, Spotify, or Audible. Also if you have not already, please tell someone you know to listen to this show. Word of mouth gets more people to listen than any other form of promotion.I'm always looking for new topics, guest ideas, and questions from the audience.
