Getting Older with Dr. David Bernstein
Monday Nov 28, 2022
Monday Nov 28, 2022
I think our feelings change about getting older as we get older. As a child I never wanted to grow up. Then as a teen I couldn't wait to be an adult. Now that I'm over 30 I find myself wondering how well I'm going to age, and how to get the most out of that time. Luckily I met just the right guy for the conversation!
My guest today is David Bernstein. David is a physician, specializing in geriatrics, with 40 years of experience. A great many people in his early life pushed his focus and care towards the oldest members of our society. Studying what gives people the longest, most active and engaged lives. He's now here to share his findings and help us avoid the many avoidable pitfalls of aging and disease.

Engagement and Divorce with Nancy Perpall
Thursday Nov 24, 2022
Thursday Nov 24, 2022
At the time of this episodes release, engagement season has officially begun. So happy Thanksgiving, and best of luck if you're considering popping the question to your significant other. But before you commit to sealing the deal, I want you to hear this expert speak on how so many people go so wrong.
My guest today is Nancy Perpall. Nancy was a critical care nurse who transitioned all the way over to law, becoming an attorney. Despite her initial plan to be a malpractice and defense attorney, she ended up spending 34 years as a divorce attorney, taking apart marriages. She's here today to try and save people from the heart wrenching pain of going through an unnecessary divorce, even if that means avoiding getting married to the person you think you love in the first place. We discuss everything from the questions you need to ask before getting married, to prenuptial agreements, love addiction, and even into thing I'd never heard of like: pre-marital counseling and some crazy divorce technicalities.Heads up: I would not call this explicit because it's technical, but we do discuss sex a fair amount.
Also I want to make a slightly selfish announcement. As of today I'm celebrating my 30th birthday. I'm not where I saw myself even a year ago, but I'm so glad that this show has been here through all of it. And my host, Podbean, has given me one of the greatest gifts I could ever get without even knowing. They've listed me as a featured podcast. You can stick around for the end of the episode to hear more about Podbean and how you can get your own show like mine.
Let's make sure marriage is the right decision, before divorce becomes the only option.

Chinese Five Elements with Dr. Vicki Matthews
Monday Nov 21, 2022
Monday Nov 21, 2022
Does the color of clothing you wear affect the arguments you have with your significant other? Can seasons help you to be on the same page as your best friends? Honestly, I'm not so sure. But my guest is an expert in Chinese Medicine which breaks personalities into five core energy types based on elements of nature.
My guest today is Dr. Vicki Matthews. Vicki has been a Naturopathic Physician and Relationship Coach for over 20 years now. Her passion stems from wanting to help society become less conflicted: reducing lawsuits, divorces, and disagreements. After some psychological research, she found that people tend to fall in line with the elements of the Five Elements Model from Chinese Medicine. It can be pretty easy to get lost in some of the softer science of this topic and its impact on your relationships. But if you enjoy Meyers-Briggs, Astrology, or any of the other alternative practices out there: you're probably going to love this one.And listen, if it's totally not your thing: that's okay too. The next episode is going to be a much more data driven episode on relationships and the reasons they fail, so come back around for that just in time for engagement season!
Let's get out of our element!

Emergency Management. It sounds like it belongs alongside Emergency Medicine or Emergency Responder, but in truth it leans much more on the management part of it's name. Plus, in this episode you can find your path to becoming one of only a couple thousand in the world.
My guest today is Christine Van Horn. Christine is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) and has been for 30 years. It's a career that has allowed her to work in all levels of government and with various agencies on a wide array of events. She's here today to help clarify what the job is and what most don't understand about the career.

Adopting a Rescue with Scott Ski
Monday Nov 14, 2022
Monday Nov 14, 2022
I'm hard pressed to think of a family I know who has never had a pet. It's very rare, at least here in the US.
My guest today is Scott Ski. Scott operated an animal rescue for 20 years! In that time he saved hundreds and hundreds of dogs and cats from death in shelters. At one point he even had 16 dogs in his backyard and 6 more cats in the house! The whole interview breaks down to this: Adopting an animal and bringing them into your home and life is just like gaining a new member of the family. They might have more legs, and more fur or feathers, but 95% of pet owners agree in saying their pets are members of their families.By the way, try not to cry at the end of the interview. If you can avoid tears, you'll have done better than both me and my guest.

Canada, also making a triumphant comeback with top province Ontario.

Child Life Coaching with Renaye Thornborrow
Thursday Nov 10, 2022
Thursday Nov 10, 2022
Let me pitch an idea here everybody. What if we put all children through personal development classes and allowed the future generations of kids be more aware and confident? Would that be disastrous? Or would it help to avoid some of the unfortunate stories we hear from our friends after they have grown up and discovered deep seated issues?
My guest today is Renaye Thornborrow. Renaye is CEO of the company Adventures in Wisdom. For the past 10 years she has worked toward the goal of bringing life coaching and personal development to kids!It might sound intense, but the storytelling method of delivering lessons is older than written history. So why can't we sprinkle it into the current curriculum? Please take a brief moment to rate the show five stars on iTunes, Spotify, or Audible. You too can do your part to help this show grow by telling other people that you enjoy the podcast.I'm always looking for new topics, guest ideas, and questions from the audience. Chasing Purpose with Terry Tucker
Thursday Nov 03, 2022
Thursday Nov 03, 2022
Are we so afraid of failure that we fail to even try? Why is it that becoming our own worst enemy is not only an option, but it's what most people default to?
It's these things that have started to pry into my thoughts more and more and I speak with all of my past guests who boldly accept the difficulties to reach their dreams. Today is no different, and is instead your new motivation to try again.
My guest today is Terry Tucker. Terry started out played college basketball at the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina despite having already had 3 knee surgeries in high school. He then followed a business degree to a corporate career. Then a stint in hospital administration, switched everything up to become a cop, and kept pushing into becoming a hostage negotiator. That's not even his whole path, it's just a few highlights. It's certainly not all glory all the time, as he has also been battling a rare cancer for the last 10 years. If there's anyone who can speak to overcoming any obstacle to follow your dreams, it's Terry. So join us for a little while and soak in the hard earned advice of a man who chose the hard path on every occasion so he could grow. Most of the stories we share today are also genuinely funny and made for a great time.
(Also sorry for my congested sinuses)
