Just Dumb Enough Podcast
Being “Just Dumb Enough” is all about being okay with yourself, and the situation you find yourself in, after you bring up a topic in front of a real expert. My name is Colton Petry, I am the Host of the Just Dumb Enough Podcast, and I‘m your professional idiot. The premise of the show is exposing the general listening audience to topics, careers, experiences, or lifestyles they may otherwise know very little about.

Pole Dancing with Carla Gilfry
Monday Apr 24, 2023
Monday Apr 24, 2023
Not all pole dancing is stripping, just like not all dancing is ballet. It's a fitness and exercise activity that gets a lot of bad press. So today I have an expert who can show us what pole dancing really is!
My guest today is Carla Gilfry. Carla also goes by the stage name "Frankie G" and is the owner of the Stilleto fitness and pole yoga gym. She has just about 20 years of experience, and in that time has coined the term "Polga" for pole yoga as a class, and also holds the world record for longest chair dance! She's got a great message about how anyone can actually pole dance regardless of your circumstances: age, gender, or body type. We've got a bit of an echo in our call, but I've hopefully done enough to reduce that to a level where it's not an issue. Also there's some show news at the very end!
Let's get on the pole!
Hopefully you enjoy the lesson from our pole dance expert. It was super fun for me to learn about, although I'm still not sure that I'll try it personally. You might have noticed by now I'm trying a little bit of a reformat here at the very end, hopefully it keeps people a little more engaged and lowers the repetition; because it came to my attention via listener that they didn't even know I did a ranking section. For those unaware, part of podcasting means I can see some of the stats behind my visitors and I feel like it's fun to make a bit of a competition out of it. The most interesting part to me is all the countries that listen, since it's now over 140 countries around the world. So now on the Monday episodes I give a leaderboard of the top 5 countries with the most listeners.
This is the last week of April ranking update:1. The United States, with New Jersey, Texas, and California as top states.2. The United Kingdom, just barely beating...3. Australia, with Victoria now overtaking New South Wales in a very active competition.4. Canada, with British Columbia and Ontario actually tied!5. New Zealand, holding out against Germany in these last days.
Do all the good stuff for the show please: rate, review, like, subscribe. DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or social media if you want to reach me.That's it for today! Have a great week and I'll see you all back here on Thursday!Stay Dumb!

Sustainability and Us with John Pabon
Thursday Apr 20, 2023
Thursday Apr 20, 2023
Last episode my expert remarked that scientists might say the world is too far gone, and that we're beyond the tipping point with our planet. That got me thinking, and I sifted through my expert contacts to find one who could tell us if that's true or not.
My guest today is John Pabon. John came over to the sustainability field two decades ago after leaving his position at the United Nations. Today he specializes in helping large corporations and governments get a better handle on the part they play and the ways they can improve. I wasn't even aware there was more to sustainability beyond the more hippie variety, but it's actually an extremely large and diverse field with a lot of greyish areas. John imparts a lot of knowledge, and also tells us about the ways that it's okay to come up short.
Let's create a better future! ( JohnPabon.Com )

Indigenous Wisdom with Dr. Anita Sanchez
Monday Apr 17, 2023
Monday Apr 17, 2023
A prophesy. The concept makes me think of fictional novels about destined heroes or doomed villains. But this writing hook actually has roots in real history, and my expert todays brings us not one, but two prophesies about our planet.
My guest today is Dr. Anita Sanchez. Anita is part Indigenous North American and partly belonging to another set of tribes. She grew up in a family that promoted deeper connections with the world around them, and is on the show today to share how that connection might just rescue the world's mindset, given the chaotic disconnect we live in. And just to amplify the importance behind hearing this lesson, even if you aren't sold on it yet: Anita was paid to teach these same lessons to Richard Branson and other mega level executives.
Let's hear a prophesy!

Quitting Nicotine with Natalie Clays
Thursday Apr 13, 2023
Thursday Apr 13, 2023
The world is full of nicotine products: Cigarettes, Vaping, Chews, Pouches, and all the way down to medical sounding Topical Patch. No one in the entire world is under the impression any of them are healthy, but a very large population finds it impossible to stop.
My guest today is Natalie Clays. Natalie was a smoker for 20 years, not ever really loving the addiction, but unable to find a way out of it. Until one day she found a program that work, that is. Now she's been nicotine free for 20 years and wants to share how anyone out there can in fact do it easily without: substituting one addiction for another, going on unpleasant medication, or completely hating your life.Fun fact: Hookah is actually the worst type of smoking you can do, with each session being equal to smoking 150 cigarettes!
Let's kick the habit! ( USA.AllenCarr.Com )

Sex Work with Liv LaRue
Monday Apr 10, 2023
Monday Apr 10, 2023
Oh boy, this one might get me in trouble! If you didn't read the title of the episode: Explicit Content Ahead!
My guest today is Liv LaRue. Madame LaRue has been a practicing courtesan for the last 10 years, as well as a guide to new escorts in her area. For those unfamiliar with the words "Courtesan" or "Escort", they are terms referring to sex workers; more commonly called prostitutes (although in looking at a dictionary definition I personally think the coolest term is: Paramour). This is one of those jobs that doesn't seem to get any educational content in the public eye. It's considered one of the oldest professions, but to date it's only legal in a couple places around the world. So I've got us this passionate expert today to educate the rest of us on the ins and outs, ups and downs, and deeper details!
Let's learn why sex work is real work. ( www.livlarue.com )

Blindness with Kevin Lowe
Thursday Apr 06, 2023
Thursday Apr 06, 2023
Human Echolocation. Those two words make me think of a superpower more than a natural ability. But as my expert today informs, it's actually entirely possible.
My guest today is Kevin Lowe. Kevin was just your average kid going to high school when a nightmare condition and unfortunate complication left him 100% blind. It's a harrowing story, and we bond a bit over some weird similarities in our lives, so I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Kevin's also the host of the "Grit, Grace, and Inspiration" Podcast, and he's here to talk about what being blind is really like. And we get into the skill of human echolocation, but you'll have to listen to the episode to learn more!I'm still waiting to see more reviews on Spotify and iTunes you guys. But I know you're good for it, so without further delay...
Let's see without sight... because there's no video to a podcast.

Your Book, Published! with Noah St John
Monday Apr 03, 2023
Monday Apr 03, 2023
Getting a book published seems like a long and intense process. But in todays world we have more options than ever when it comes to publishing your book. So what is it that you want to write?
My guest today is Noah St John. You may remember Noah from our previous interview where he taught us how to get out of our own way so we could succeed for a change. Now he's back to teach us about how we write books, why we all need to be writing one, and how to get published once you're done. With 20 books now under his belt, and 6-figure book deals in the bag, it's no wonder he's got lots to share. It has even got me all ready to go, despite the numerous other projects I've already got lined up. ( Www.7figurelifebook.com )He also drops a nugget of wisdom about reviews that I think everyone needs to hear.I've got nearly a thousand full on subscribers and tens of thousands of listeners, but for some reason I only have about 35 reviews between iTunes and Spotify. Reviews are the only thing that the major platforms care about when deciding if you get more attention. So please, if you have access to either of those apps, just leave a quick 5-star review. It would really be a game changer if we could even get that total up to 100.
Let's become authors!

Professional Musician with Larry Powell
Thursday Mar 30, 2023
Thursday Mar 30, 2023
It's not until I think about music being played that I realize I barely know the names of the major instruments. Luckily my expert today has a lot of experience and passion as a professional musician.
My guest today is Larry Powell. Larry has been playing the Trumpet for over 40 years now; performing everywhere from an Orchesta to a Circus, from Entertaining on a Cruise Ship to Teaching in a Classroom. Larry's here today to talk a bit about the different types of musicians and what it takes to get really good!
( Www.StudioHFL.Com )Also another big thank you to all of you listening out there!
