Just Dumb Enough Podcast
Being “Just Dumb Enough” is all about being okay with yourself, and the situation you find yourself in, after you bring up a topic in front of a real expert. My name is Colton Petry, I am the Host of the Just Dumb Enough Podcast, and I‘m your professional idiot. The premise of the show is exposing the general listening audience to topics, careers, experiences, or lifestyles they may otherwise know very little about.

Part of a Cult with Peter Young
Monday May 22, 2023
Monday May 22, 2023
If I were to say: Picture a cult. What kind of image do you get in your mind? Hooded figures around a bloodstained alter? A forest commune of hippie types practicing free love? Or a large , identically dressed congregation being led in a mass ceremony?
What if I brought you and expert who was part of a cult for 20 years and still lived his life from his own home just like any other normal person? Because I did.
Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. I'm your host as always Colton Petry.
My guest today is Peter Young. Peter lived his life as a sports broadcaster, covering events far and wide, on tv screens and radio programs regularly, all while slowly being drug into the dark bowels of a cult by the person he loved most in the world. Obviously, he's made his escape since then, but it was far from easy or clean.
Let's avoid getting indoctrinated!
I hope none of you are in any cults right now, small or large. If you are... stop it. Come on, stop that. And if you're the godhead figure running a cult currently, hit me up. That would be a fascinating interview and might go nicely towards completing a full religion episode series for the show.
It's also just about the last week of May and here's the rankings so far:1. The United States, with Texas, Oregon, and Arizona as top states.2. Canada, with Ontario still dominating.3. Australia, with Victoria way at the top.4. The United Kingdom.5. Sweden, now led by Stockholm.
Anyway, that's it for today! Have a great week and I'll hopefully see you all back here on Thursday! Good Divorce with Sarah Armstrong
Thursday May 18, 2023
Thursday May 18, 2023
Not everyone gets married. Frankly, it's not right for everyone, and that's totally fine. Also, not everyone who gets married, stays married. Divorce is never an intended outcome, but it happens very often. However, as my expert shares with us today, having a child in the middle of the divorcing parents needs to be handled with far greater care than two people who just don't work anymore.
Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts. I'm your host as always Colton Petry.
My guest today is Sarah Armstrong. Sarah is a woman who had such a successful divorce, and gave so much advice on doing it the right way, that she was nearly forced to write a book. She's with us today to talk about the logistics of divorce when a child is involved, and how you can succeed in having the best separation possible for tiny human caught in the middle.
Let's be adults about this.
It's weird to say, but I hope everyone learned something today that they'll never have to use. I want you all to have rich and full lives, surrounded by people who care about you.
Anyway, that's it for this week! Have a great week and I'll see you all back here on Monday! Please do all the good stuff for the show: rate, review, like, and subscribe. DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or social media if you want to reach me.Most importantly, Stay Dumb!

80s Pro Wrestler with Chris Whaley
Monday May 15, 2023
Monday May 15, 2023
Who recognizes the stage names: "The Undertaker", "The Ultimate Warrior", or "Rowdy Rody Piper"?
My guest today is Chris Whaley. Chris was a professional wrestler who turned holy man of god. He also had a movie produced about his life called "The Masked Saint" that went up for some awards and even won! He's here today discussing what those early days of wrestling were like and the way he handled his later years because of that lifestyle.
Let's get ready to wrestle!
What do you think? I have never been a big wrestling fan, but even I see it marketed everywhere. So are you a fan? Have you ever seen an in-person show? Who is your favorite? Let me know.
I know I wasn't around last Thursday, but life's been really crazy and sometimes you have to make time for yourself. Sorry everybody. We are officially mid-May and here's the rankings so far:1. The United States, with Oregon, Texas, and Arizona as top states.2. Canada, overtaking Australia, with Ontario in the lead, but Saskatchewan not far behind.3. Australia, with Victoria leading the attempt to take back the #2 spot.4. The United Kingdom, still sitting unusually low on the list so far.5. Sweden, only one listener ahead of India and still led by Skane.

Reframing Discrimination with Dr. Frank Douglas
Monday May 08, 2023
Monday May 08, 2023
Is all discrimination mean spirited? Because everyone does it at some point or another, often unintentionally. So is everyone mean at their very core? Or is it just that most of us are handling everyday situations with minimal thought?
My guest today is Dr. Frank Douglas. As an immigrant in America, Dr. Douglas experienced a lot of interactions that were less than positive, and he encountered a lot of people trying to hold him back. It's only with time between him and the situations that he's figured out a better way for others to learn from his mistakes and find a productive way through these difficulties. All this from the man who went from nobody, to executive vice president of a top 5 global pharmaceutical company.
Let's reframe our situation!
There's your takeaway assignment for the episode. After an interaction today, any interaction, ask yourself if you treated that person the way you would want to be treated. It's easy, and hopefully you'll find some validation in seeing that you are treating people with kindness. However, you might just have that shocking moment where you realize you're not being such a nice person for no apparent reason.
May is a new month, and here's the rankings so far:1. The United States, with Texas, Arizona, and Oregon as top states.2. Australia, with Victoria firmly dominating every other Australian area combined!3. Canada, with Ontario taking a great lead this month.4. The United Kingdom, slipping way down from their normal number 2 spot and led by England. Did I mention I have more visibility on a few countries now?5. Sweden, back after some time away and led by Skane.

An Afterlife? with Craig Hogan
Thursday May 04, 2023
Thursday May 04, 2023
For some people, an afterlife is a guarantee. For others it's a fantasy. But regardless of which way they lean, most people report the thought of having a life after death to be comforting. Our biggest issue has always been proving it. But maybe my expert today will change that by providing us with something more.
My guest today is Craig Hogan. Craig is the President of the Afterlife Research and Education Institute, a group dedicated to studying and informing others about the realities of what happens towards the end of life, the life after this life, and even afterlife communication. We also talk about aliens, mediums, and all other manners of the bizarre which I know so many of you enjoy. ( SeekReality.Com )There's also going to be a YouTube Premiere marathon tomorrow, May 5th, from 12:30pm to 7:15pm Pacific Standard Time on the podcast YouTube channel. It's all episodes that have aired on the podcast feed before, but I figure it'll be a fun way to hang out and chat with those of you in the audience that want to drop by, even in it's just to say: "hey"!
Let's see what comes next.
This topic leaves me a bit split. Between the interview conversation, and the editing, I've heard the information a couple times now. And it would be great to have ironclad proof that there is an afterlife. Truly, that would be awesome. But it seems so neat and tidy that I'm struggling to want to accept the message without firsthand experience. Everyone gets to go and there's no badness? Then what keeps you around when thing get hard? We've talked about it before on this show with the seriousness of mental health, and I don't want anyone out there to give up because anyone said there's a perfect world waiting, and all you need to do is die first. No one out there hearing this gets to give up like that. So many of us are struggling to get through hard lives in the day to day, but I need us to all have hope that we can get through it to a better side of things right here in this life.
Remember if things are rough and you need someone to reach out to, I'm just a message away: DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or on any of the major social medias.

Didgeridoo with Pitz Quattrone
Monday May 01, 2023
Monday May 01, 2023
It's funny that so many of us either know the word "Didgeridoo" or know the sound it makes, but we don't know anything else. I know I was absolutely clueless when my expert today approached me and pitched the idea for an episode. I was even more surprised to learn that it can aid or eliminate sleep apnea.
My guest today is Pitz Quattrone. Pitz is a Didgeridoo expert with over 25 years of experience playing what many historians believe to be the oldest instrument on the planet. Ptiz has even had a song of his played on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show. Overall, It's a pretty short episode with a whole lot of sound effects. ( www.PitzQuattrone.com )
Let's hit those low notes!
I'm genuinely going to head to my local hardware store to buy some pvc pipe. I cannot being to understand how I would hollow out a 4ft wood branch, so that's my easy way out. Hopefully it'll help my sleep quality and make me giggle to myself all in one.
April is officially over and it was a record setting month for the show with most downloads and most new listeners!I'm extremely excited to see the show grow, but outside of that, here's how the month's ranks ended up:1. The United States, still under 50% of the audience, with New Jersey, Texas, and California as top states. What happened Oregon?2. The United Kingdom, successfully holding out by just half a percent against...3. Australia, with Victoria firmly dominating New South Wales in the last week.4. Canada, with Ontario beating British Columbia by a single listener!5. Germany, winning against New Zealand and led by Hessen.

Home Buying with Orli Dudaie
Thursday Apr 27, 2023
Thursday Apr 27, 2023
The housing market is one of those things that is always on the mind. No matter what country you live in, the thought that a sudden market change could leave you without a home is terrifying. But when is the right time to buy? You don't want to overpay and be burdened by a mortgage beyond your means. That's where my expert today comes in!
My guest today is Orli Dudaie. If there's a job in the field of housing, Orli has worked in it over the last 30 years, in numerous countries around the world. She's on the show today to show why the dream that everyone has to buy at the cheapest point, is not actually the best time to buy. ( AskOrli.Com )We had a brief connection issue about halfway through the episode, Unfortunately these things happen when talking through an internet program across states or countries. Luckily, Orli is so good at explaining that I am actually able to fill the short gap on my side, post-interview. Just don't be shocked when I'm suddenly talking for her.
Let's find ourselves a home!
Hopefully you find some value with our real estate expert. I'm actually just looking at finding a new place to move to myself, and this interview gave me a lot to consider.

Pole Dancing with Carla Gilfry
Monday Apr 24, 2023
Monday Apr 24, 2023
Not all pole dancing is stripping, just like not all dancing is ballet. It's a fitness and exercise activity that gets a lot of bad press. So today I have an expert who can show us what pole dancing really is!
My guest today is Carla Gilfry. Carla also goes by the stage name "Frankie G" and is the owner of the Stilleto fitness and pole yoga gym. She has just about 20 years of experience, and in that time has coined the term "Polga" for pole yoga as a class, and also holds the world record for longest chair dance! She's got a great message about how anyone can actually pole dance regardless of your circumstances: age, gender, or body type. We've got a bit of an echo in our call, but I've hopefully done enough to reduce that to a level where it's not an issue. Also there's some show news at the very end!
Let's get on the pole!
Hopefully you enjoy the lesson from our pole dance expert. It was super fun for me to learn about, although I'm still not sure that I'll try it personally. You might have noticed by now I'm trying a little bit of a reformat here at the very end, hopefully it keeps people a little more engaged and lowers the repetition; because it came to my attention via listener that they didn't even know I did a ranking section. For those unaware, part of podcasting means I can see some of the stats behind my visitors and I feel like it's fun to make a bit of a competition out of it. The most interesting part to me is all the countries that listen, since it's now over 140 countries around the world. So now on the Monday episodes I give a leaderboard of the top 5 countries with the most listeners.
This is the last week of April ranking update:1. The United States, with New Jersey, Texas, and California as top states.2. The United Kingdom, just barely beating...3. Australia, with Victoria now overtaking New South Wales in a very active competition.4. Canada, with British Columbia and Ontario actually tied!5. New Zealand, holding out against Germany in these last days.
