My name is Colton Petry, I am the Host of the Just Dumb Enough Podcast, and I‘m your professional idiot. The premise of the show is exposing the general listening audience to topics, careers, experiences, or lifestyles they may otherwise know very little about.

Diamonds with Sonny Blaze
Tuesday Aug 22, 2023
Tuesday Aug 22, 2023
A little while back, or what feels like just a little while ago, we talked about costume jewelry and the possibilities you could achieve on the cheap. But what if you want something much nicer? What if it's an engagement ring or a commemorative piece you want to withstand the test of time? That's when you need to talk to someone like my expert today.
My guest today is Sonny Blaze. Sonny is a designer of some of the finest jewelry to every grace A-list carpets. From rings to necklaces, and off into categories you've never considered, Sonny has done it all in style without compromise. He's here today to inform all of us what it is we should be looking for in the most precious of minerals, diamonds. Really, the choice goes beyond a simple big or small. Do you want natural or synthetic? Clear or colored? And how can you buy it while being environmentally conscious, social responsible, and still not decimating your bank account? All that and more, coming right up!
Let's get rocked!
I really hope this saves someone out there a truly ridiculous amount of time and money. Like, buy a synthetic diamond the size of a finger and then also buy your, hopefully, favorite podcaster lunch! I know I'll sure appreciate it, even if the fiancé-to-be doesn't!
August is over half way gone already and here's some updated rankings:1. The United States, now led by Oregon, New Jersey, and California.2. The United Kingdom, overtaking Canada on the way to number 2 and led by England.3. Hong Kong, Showing up in a big way all of the sudden! Welcome to the top 3 HK!4. Ontario, Canada.5. Australia, barely holding onto a top spot all thanks to Queensland.
That's it for this week! Have a great week and I'll see you all back here for the next episode!Until the next episode, please do all the things to help the show: rate, review, like, and subscribe. Japanese American Internment Camps with John Suzuki
Sunday Aug 13, 2023
Sunday Aug 13, 2023
Most people are at least vaguely familiar with the inhuman treatment that happened inside concentration camps during World War 2. The thing most people have never heard, is that Germany was not the only country that engaged in collecting and imprisoning specific ethnic groups. In fact, the one we are talking about today was claiming to be the most freedom forward place on Earth while also building these camps in bleached desert wastelands where the weather alone could kill... The United States of America.
My guest today is John Suzuki. John is the author of the Amazon best selling book "American Grit". It details stories from a shameful time in American history, and the incredible people that rose to greatness in spite of it. John does a great job breaking down the details and easily secured a place as one of my favorite guests, with a fascinating topic that for obvious reasons has been largely buried. This covers everything from the aftershock of Pearl Harbor, to Executive Order 9066, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, war heroes like Shiro Kashino, and what life was like for those who were imprisoned after the fighting was all over.
( Www.JohnSuzuki.Com )For those that listened last episode, you'll know I'm padding out the new studio space and still had a little echo when I did this interview. But it should be all better in the future, and honestly isn't that noticeable even to me on this one.
Let's learn America's dirty secret.
And thank you for listening. I really think it's time we start talking about these stains on our collective pasts. Only by being fully aware of who we are and what we've done, will we be able to build a brighter future with a fuller picture. Make sure you're doing your part to at least make others aware and give them the chance to learn through interviews like this one.
August has continued moving forward despite my pleas for it to stop, so we've got updated rankings:1. The United States, now led by New Jersey, Michigan and Oregon.2. Ontario, Canada. Which is how I'll be refering to it until we get some competition again.3. The United Kingdom, with England passing Scotland for the top spot.4. Australia, led back to the top 5 by New South Wales.5. Columbia! Welcome to the top 5 for the first time Columbia!
That's it for this week! Have a great weekend and I'll see you all back here for the next episode!Until the next episode, please do all the things to help the show: rate, review, like, and subscribe. Stretching with Diane Cherico
Friday Aug 04, 2023
Friday Aug 04, 2023
When this show started, I found myself fascinated with all the things we think we know, but still get wrong. Sure, it can be as complex as psychology, but it can also be as simple as stretching.
My guest today is Diane Cherico. Diane started working in the Massage and Chiro-therapy field 24 years ago and along the way found Active Isolated Stretching. It was one of those innocuous things she didn't give much though to. Could stretching really be the key to alleviating work related chronic pain? Is all that warm up stuff we half-heartedly did in gym class actually the reason we bounced back so fast? She gives lots of insight about getting into the massage field, as well as a couple simple tricks you can try at home to relieve things like: Headaches, neck pain, upper or lower back pain, really all kinds of things.Lastly I have to apologize about the audio on my side. I just moved into yet another new studio space and it's entirely vacant, so it echoes quite a lot. I've tried to cut it down, and hopefully you won't even notice, but I want to assure you it is not the new normal.
Let's finally stretch correctly!
Don't be afraid to rewind so you can easily listen to those stretching instructions again. A little bit now could save you a whole lot of pain later.
It's a new month, so we've got new rankings:1. The United States, led by Michigan and Ohio, but actually very close to being dethroned by-2. The United Kingdom, with Scotland up at the top.3. Canada, with Ontario unsurprisingly leading.4. Pakistan... Wait, really? Welcome to the top 5 Pakistan!5. South Africa. Back after quite a long time away it seems

Dream Homes with Julie Laughton
Friday Jul 28, 2023
Friday Jul 28, 2023
A dream home is a funny concept. It's easy to critique these custom houses as being imperfect, and yet we each build a list of must haves in our mind that barely amount to a sensible structure ourselves. So where is the point we leave reality and enter daydream?
My guest today is Julie Laughton. Julie has been working in the architecture and home design world for 40 years. She now runs her own company and has a whole briefcase full of job titles that encompass nearly everything you could need when building a house from the ground up. Her primary contracts are building dream homes from scratch. She's here today to impart wisdom about the process, tips to get it done smoothly, and nightmares to avoid.Heads up about the audio quality: Julie was in between work sites and actually did the interview from her vehicle on her phone. I've tried to clean it up as much as I can, but don't come into this one expecting studio quality audio from our expert today. ( Www.JulieLaughton.Com )
Let's build the houses we dream of for prices that work!
Well hopefully that audio wasn't too much for anyone. I'm going to make a more conscious effort in the future to ensure each guest has true recording equipment.
We are somehow already at the end of July, so here are the ranking results:1. The United States, with Texas, Oregon, and Virginia as the top states.2. Canada, with Ontario maintaining the very top spot.3. The United Kingdom, with England up at the top.4. Australia, with New South Wales using the last days to firmly beat Victoria.5. Egypt, just barely hanging on until the end.

At Home Therapies for Autism with Deann Hampton
Friday Jul 21, 2023
Friday Jul 21, 2023
My first autism episode was by far one of the two most requested topics to date, and it was well received by all of you in the lovely Just Dumb Enough audience. But in talking to listeners, many people still wanted more. Something even more personal. So now I'm revisiting the topic with an all new expert and a different angle.
My guest today is Deann Hampton. Deann has been mother to two twins for 35 years now. Even though they are grown now; Deann had a rocky start to say the least, when they received multiple diagnosis at a very young age. The road was a hard one to travel, not knowing that autism was at the heart of the issues, and Deann got a lot of advice that did more harm than good. ( Www.DeannHampton.Com )She covers some of the differences in diagnosis of autism and it's spectrum of disorders, as well as a rise of the neurodiverse population, and what parents may find to be helpful in their day to day. She also references some products, none of which are sponsors of this show, and also are not things I can recommend or advise on with any confidence. But that's why I have experts on the show and always recommend you leave here and research the things that interest you on your own. This is a great standalone episode, but I also recommend checking out the first time we covered it on this show with Tobi Rates. That first interview covers a lot of the basic terms and conditions that come up in todays conversation that may be unfamiliar to you if you don't already have some level of knowledge on the condition.
Let's learn some tips and tricks!
I hope this helps those of you touched by autism in some meaningful way. As always you can reach out to me or my guests to learn more.
Now past the midpoint, here's our July rankings:1. The United States, with Texas, Oregon, and Virginia (in that order) as the top states.2. Canada, with Ontario dominating.3. The United Kingdom, with England up at the top.4. Egypt. Holding onto it's place tightly.5. Australia, with a tie between New South Wales and Victoria.
That's it for this week! Have a great weekend and I'll see you all back here for the next episode!Until the next episode, please do all the things to help the show: rate, review, like, and subscribe. Humanity First with Sara Ting
Wednesday Jul 12, 2023
Wednesday Jul 12, 2023
How do you define yourself? Do you start with: Your gender? Your race? Your religion? Your politics? My expert today would tell you any of those are the wrong things to start with.
My guest today is Sara Ting. Sara is the Author of the Sun Poem as well as President and Founder of World Unity Inc. She specializes in promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) by raising awareness of yourself first. And it accomplishes some of this by using the increasingly rare skill of critical thinking. Also, We had a bit of a connection issue and one of our computers throwing alerts early on. I've cut as many as I could and lessened the audio levels of the rest. Pro-tip to would be podcasters out there: make sure your guests are either wearing headphones, or have silenced their alerts before starting your interview. See? I'm learning just like all of you after all!( Www.WorldUnityInc.Org Www.AsTheSun.Net )
Let's put our humanity first!
I think humanity first is an interesting perspective, but do any of you see any flaws in it?
The updated July rankings:1. The United States, with Texas, Virginia, and Oregon now as the top states.2. The United Kingdom, with England up at the top.3. Canada, with Ontario dominating.4. Egypt. Wow. welcome to the top 5 for I think the first time ever!5. Australia, with now led by New South Wales.

LinkedIn with Joe Apfelbaum
Wednesday Jul 05, 2023
Wednesday Jul 05, 2023
Coming back from the American holiday, I figured we'd do a short episode on a well recognized, non-toxic, social media.
My guest today is Joe Apfelbaum. Joe is CEO of Ajax Union, a marketing company that has 15 years of experience helping people in all fields build effective strategies. One of the most important of these is the proper use of the social media site: LinkedIn.
It's something I was aware existed before the interview, but never understood the purpose entirely. Luckily Joe delivers an excellent lesson, so I'll get us right into the interview!
( Www.BusinessNetowrkingWorkshop.Com Www.JoeLinkedIn.Com Www.NewAICourse.Com Www.EvyAI.Com )
Let's socialize our way to better business!
Are any of you listeners business owners or entrepreneur hopefuls? If so, write in or leave a comment and tell me what you do!
It's a new month, so we've got a new ranking:1. The United States, with Texas, Florida, and Oregon now as the top states.2. The United Kingdom, with England taking a heavy lead.3. Australia, with South Australia at the top for the first time in a long time.4. Canada, with Ontario way out in front.5. India. Welcome back to the top 5!

Past Lives with Christa Okon
Friday Jun 30, 2023
Friday Jun 30, 2023
It seems to be a trend with this show's audience that most conventional topics never perform as well as the unusual. So to feed into your insatiable lust for the abnormal, I've got an expert today who's speaking about our past lives and how they impact the people we are today.
My guest today is Christa Okon. During some routine oral care, Christa found herself having visions of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. She was understandably confused, frightened, and off put by these intrusive memories. Over time she came to understand that we as humans have an ability to tap into some highlights from the past lives we've lived. You'll soon hear her description of how these seemingly unconnected people have far reaching impact on you, even after their deaths. For long time listeners, this isn't the first time reincarnation has come up. But it is most certainly the first to claim that we can access traits and memories from the other people we could have been. It's quite a thought process to engage in, and I highly recommend you come to it with an open mind.I'm not sure if this show needs to just lean into the more bizarre aspects of life as a human or not. What do you think? Do you listen for the career, life, and hobby advice? Or are you one of those who only shows up when the title says something unexpected and odd? Let me know by leaving a comment wherever you're listening, by sending an email to DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.com , or by reaching out on your preferred social media platform.
Let's dig into the lives we had before our birth?
So that was the episode. What do you think? Have we all experience past lives and diverse experiences? Or do we just get one trip on this big planet? I always want to believe in the fantastical, no matter the evidence. It won't change the way I live my life, but what's the harm in just humoring the possibility?
We've reached the end of June, a bit slower than the months before it, with the following ranking:1. The United States, with Texas, Kentucky, and California as top states. Not sure what happened to New York and Oregon at the end there.2. The United Kingdom, still led by Scotland!3. Australia, with Victoria just barely staying ahead of New South Wales.4. Canada, with Ontario way at the top.5. Sweden, with Stockholm crushing the others.
That's it for this week! Have a great weekend and I'll see you all back here for the next episode about the same time that America blows up the sky! It's Independence day next week, for those unaware, and the US just loves launching colored dynamite into the sky to celebrate.Until the next episode, please do all the things to help the show: rate, review, like, and subscribe.
