Is all discrimination mean spirited? Because everyone does it at some point or another, often unintentionally. So is everyone mean at their very core? Or is it just that most of us are handling everyday situations with minimal thought?
My guest today is Dr. Frank Douglas. As an immigrant in America, Dr. Douglas experienced a lot of interactions that were less than positive, and he encountered a lot of people trying to hold him back. It's only with time between him and the situations that he's figured out a better way for others to learn from his mistakes and find a productive way through these difficulties. All this from the man who went from nobody, to executive vice president of a top 5 global pharmaceutical company.
Let's reframe our situation!
There's your takeaway assignment for the episode. After an interaction today, any interaction, ask yourself if you treated that person the way you would want to be treated. It's easy, and hopefully you'll find some validation in seeing that you are treating people with kindness.
However, you might just have that shocking moment where you realize you're not being such a nice person for no apparent reason.
May is a new month, and here's the rankings so far:
1. The United States, with Texas, Arizona, and Oregon as top states.
2. Australia, with Victoria firmly dominating every other Australian area combined!
3. Canada, with Ontario taking a great lead this month.
4. The United Kingdom, slipping way down from their normal number 2 spot and led by England. Did I mention I have more visibility on a few countries now?
5. Sweden, back after some time away and led by Skane.
